Social Worker (Locum) - Cafcass
Public and Private Law Teams
Cafcass is currently recruiting experienced Locum Social Workers to join our Public and Private Law teams across the Thames Valley and Swindon.
These are excellent opportunities to work within a respected national organisation, making a real difference to children and families involved in family court proceedings.
Available Roles
2 x Locum Social Workers based from our Reading or Oxford offices, covering the Thames Valley region, including Oxford, Reading, Slough, and surrounding areas
1 x Locum Social Worker based from our Swindon office
Hybrid working arrangements are available, with office attendance required for key meetings and court work.
About the Role
As a Cafcass Social Worker, you will:
Undertake work in Public and/or Private Law proceedings
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children involved in family court cases
Prepare high-quality reports for court and provide clear, child-focused recommendations
Work directly with children and families, ensuring the child's voice is heard
Liaise effectively with legal professionals, local authorities, and partner agencies
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Proven experience in Public and/or Private Law
Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage a caseload independently and work to court deadlines
Commitment to Cafcass values and child-centred practice
