This is a unique opportunity for a Freelance Estimator to join a well-established, family-owned construction business in Oldham that is entering a key growth phase. Having built a £10M turnover business delivering traditional build projects up to £5M, the company is now investing in its pre-construction function to support further expansion. This Freelance Estimator role is critical — the business has successfully grown without a dedicated Estimator, and now requires an experienced Freelance Estimator to take ownership of tendering and support the next stage of development. As a Freelance Estimator, you’ll step into a position where your impact will be immediate and visible.
Responsibilities
As a Freelance Estimator, you will take full responsibility for the tendering process, from initial enquiry through to submission. You’ll review drawings, specifications, and scope, engage with the supply chain, and produce accurate and competitive tenders. The Freelance Estimator will work closely with the commercial lead and senior leadership team to align pricing with delivery strategy. You will also identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to improving processes as the business evolves. This Freelance Estimator role offers autonomy and the chance to truly own the estimating function.
