Job Description:
The Business Applications Practice Champion (BAPC) is responsible for supporting critical day-to-day tactical operational activities that aid the Practice Lead in managing the Practice. These include addressing staffing issues/needs, driving certification and skill development of Practice members, participating in recruitment of Practice members, and supporting employee engagement activities. This role will be a “connected” leader who can speak to Practice members on behalf of the Practice Lead.
This role is designed to support the accountabilities within the remit of Practice Lead; developing and evolving the broader practice strategy, optimizing revenue and chargeability in line with KPIs, developing talent and workforce strategies, and maintaining skills, learning, and development initiatives.
The BAPC remains a client-facing practitioner with assigned roles and targets for chargeability and market utilization. The BAPC reports to the Practice Lead for practice-related accountabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Understanding Avanade’s business across Practice Groups.
2. Supporting organizational culture, employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity.
3. Interacting with leaders and employees at all levels.
4. Managing time effectively between Practice work and client responsibilities.
5. Understanding necessary skills and capabilities in the Practice.
6. Capability planning, change management, client relationship management, collaboration, inclusive leadership, operational excellence.
Characteristics for success:
1. 8+ years in a technology or business consulting organization.
2. 5+ years managing and leading professionals.
3. Interest or experience in employee engagement and onboarding.
Supporting staffing and workforce planning:
* Assist with staffing needs to meet client demand.
* Develop and execute workforce plans.
* Coordinate with Resource Management and supply channels.
* Manage readiness activities and support individual career development.
* Participate in hiring and career planning processes.
Supporting certifications and development:
* Manage certification drives and capability building.
* Monitor progress and address skill gaps.
* Guide Practice members on skill development for future readiness.
Fostering collaboration and belonging:
* Coordinate onboarding activities and materials.
* Embed company principles, increase inclusion, and employee engagement.
* Share updates, recognize members, and organize community activities.
Shared KPIs include:
* Market utilization, chargeability, headcount, attrition, employee engagement, diversity & wellbeing, certifications, strategic priorities.
