Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time basis. This role would suit someone confident in handling day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate records for a portfolio of clients, while also providing ad hoc administrative and PA support to the MD. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of our clients in a varied and rewarding position. The role is approximately 80% bookkeeping and 20% PA support, working closely with the Managing Director. The position is office-based three days per week, so a car driver is essential due to the rural location of the Key Responsibilities: * Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage * Input and reconcile sales and purchase invoices * Process bank reconciliations and handle petty cash records * Prepare VAT returns and submit them in line with HMRC deadlines * Monitor accounts receivable and payable * Liaise with clients to request records and resolve any queries * Support with payroll processing (if applicable) * Assist accountants with year-end file preparation * Keep electronic filing systems organised and compliant * PA duties including taking minutes in meetings * Diary management Experience and Skills Requirements: * Proven experience in a bookkeeping role (2 years preferred) * Proficiency in Sage accounting software (Sage 50 or Sage Business Cloud) * Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT * Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy * Ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines * Good communication skills and client-facing experience * AAT qualification (desirable but not essential) If you have not been contacted within 5 working days, then unfortunately on this occasion your CV has not been shortlisted
