The Senior Process Safety Consultant will work in the Process Safety Group to support the development and growth of the Process Safety & Process Safety Engineering Services business across our full client base as well as into new clients. The role will operate UK wide into the target regions: North East, North West, Humber and Scotland, and target sectors: Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy.
The focus will be to work closely with the existing engineering services teams to develop Process Safety and Process Safety Engineering as complementary to the current asset integrity services delivered by AXIOM, including Materials, Mechanical, and Inspection, enabling AXIOM to deliver total solutions.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead team/individual assignments, manage fee rate and utilisation to deliver contribution.
* Bring leading-edge thought leadership and processes to deliver client business benefit.
* Maintain client relationships, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.
* Collaborate with the Commercial team and Business Development to secure work at target fee rates.
* Support the development of AXIOM’s Process Safety and Process Safety Engineering standards, methodologies, work processes, procedures, and tools.
* Operate as an experienced Process Safety consultant in the industry.
* Lead meetings with multiple customer stakeholders.
* Stay updated with Process Safety trends, legislation, and identify capability development areas, building contacts at senior levels in client organisations and external bodies.
Your Background
* A degree in engineering or scientific discipline, preferably Chemical or Process Engineering.
* Chartered status or equivalent with an appropriate Institution.
* Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing.
* Strong experience in target sectors, covering operations and capital investments, and knowledge of UK legislation (e.g., COMAH, DSEAR).
* Extensive experience in process safety areas such as HAZOP, PSM, QRA, Hazard Identification, LOPA, and related software tools.
* Strong network within target sectors and regions.
