The main purpose of the role is to play a key part in supporting the daily operations of the warehouse. Working closely with the management team, you will lead by example, demonstrating high standards of performance, initiative, and reliability. You will assist in coordinating tasks, making day-to-day decisions to maintain workflow, and fostering a productive, motivated environment for the team.
Duties will include:
* Supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations.
* Make informed decisions on workflow priorities, stock handling, and task allocation in the absence of direct supervision.
* Taking initiative to identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
* Assisting with training and mentoring operatives, promoting best practices and safety compliance.
* Ensuring stock is received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
* Operate warehouse systems and equipment confidently and in line with company procedures.
* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and Health & Safety awareness.
* Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments to ensure a smooth operation.
* Be an approachable point of contact for the operative team, encouraging motivation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
* Undertake all duties expected of a Warehouse Operative, as needed, including picking, packing, goods in/out, and general warehouse tasks.

* Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.

* Willingness to lead by example and perform all operative duties when required.
Desirable
* Forklift/Reach truck licence (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience with stock control systems or warehouse management software
* First aid or health & safety training
* IOSH
Starting Salary £26,078 rising to £26,447 on passing probation. The role is also eligible for salary uplift on attainment of certain truck licenses.
