DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL REPORTING Essential: Insurance Financial Reporting leadership Team & Exec management £150,000 - £175,000 package (incl. bonus, pension etc.) London offices, hybrid WFH 2-3 days Pear Talent is representing a rapidly growing VC-backed Insurer who have an excellent new opportunity for a Director of Financial Reporting. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead a substantial team delivering all key financial, regulatory and management reporting. This person will also lead and drive the enhancement of the function (eg. reporting process and controls improvements), as well as lead the review, selection and implementation of best-in-class technology. You'll manage a a team of x15 with heads of departments reporting into you, as well as regularly partnering with Exec/Board/NED stakeholders and both attending and presenting at Audit Committees etc. Key accountabilities: Partner with the CFO to shape the long-term strategic vision of the Finance team, including people, processes and technology to support a high-growth business. Contribute to the review and analysis of business financial performance, helping to identify both potenital risks and opportunties that might impact the results. Lead the year end including all relevant financial and regulatory reporting deliverables, ensuring a robust financial controls environment and compliance with all required accounting standards, as well as manage the external audit process. Lead the enhancement of the Finance function, especially focussed on reporting process and controls improvements, proactively challenge the status-quo, select and implement best-in-class technology to maximise efficiency and automate manual processes. Support and contribute to future corporate finance activities (eg. DD, new product launch etc) and ad-hoc requests such as financial insight for investors. Significant interaction with CFO/ExCo stakeholders internally, as well as managing external provider relationships. Oversee the production of papers for various Board, Audit Committee meetings, attending and presenting at such. Lead, mentor and develop the team, as well as up-skill or replace resource where required. Required experience: Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience gained in Insurance (or if FS then FinTech/lending required) Proven track record of managing complex financial (IFRS) and regulatory (SII) reporting processes Experience of leading change, both in terms of Finance function (reporting processes, controls, systems/tech etc) as well as people/team related.
