About the role
Due to popular demand, we are now looking to expand our wonderful wraparound care team at Knebworth Primary School, so that we can accommodate more children in our thriving provision.
Our school is located in the heart of Knebworth Village, which is a close community on the outskirts of Stevenage. We are an inclusive school with a strong committed team, therefore, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will embody our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
We are looking for an after school assistant to join Knebbers Crew from 15:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
The main areas of responsibility are:
* To play and organise activities with the children in the club.
* To make Knebbers Crew a fun and safe place where children want to be.
* To ensure the smooth operation of Knebbers Crew.
* To act in a respectful and responsible manner towards children at all times.
* To ensure all food is served and stored appropriately to ensure it is healthy, fresh and hygienic.
* To ensure that the Knebbers Crew area is left clean and tidy.
* To administer or supervise first aid as required and to record any accidents/incidents in the school accident book.
* To attend meetings or training as appropriate.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the school.
Supporting the School
* To attend relevant training e.g. Emergency First Aid, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene.
* To be aware of school policies and procedures.
* To be aware of confidentiality issues linked to home / pupil / teacher / school work and to keep confidences.
* To model the school values of respect, responsibility and resilience.
Knowledge and Experience Required
* Experience of working with children
* Level 3 Childcare
* Communication skills, both written and oral
* Interpersonal skills
* Emergency First Aid
* Internal or external training in Safeguarding Procedures
* Food Hygiene Level 2 and above
