Role Overview As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership across nuclear new build projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-effective design and delivery. You’ll be a key part of a project-based team, offering both strategic input and hands-on engineering expertise. Key Responsibilities Capture and manage system requirements (e.g. using IBM DOORS). Translate project requirements into robust electrical system designs. Validate designs through functional analysis, modelling, and simulation. Develop and review electrical tests to verify compliance. Liaise with external bodies including regulators, clients, and suppliers. Ensure alignment with relevant UK and international standards and regulations. Candidate Profile Degree or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng/IEng. Background in nuclear, energy, or large-scale infrastructure preferred. Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and system integration. Proficient in industry tools (e.g. MS Office, ETAP, Aveva 3D). Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Must be eligible for security clearance.
