I'm looking for an experienced podcast audio editor / mastering engineer to handle editing + final polish for my show. Episodes are recorded in Reaper and typically run 30–40 minutes. The goal is simple: make the audio sound clean, consistent, and professional—like a show that belongs next to the top podcasts in the category.
This is a long-term partnership: I release 3-episode seasons every other month (about 3 episodes every ~8 weeks). I'm looking for someone reliable who can learn my sound and keep it consistent over time.
What you'll do:
Clean up dialogue: remove background noise / room tone issues as needed
Reduce plosives, harsh "S" sounds, clicks, lip smacks, and mouth noise
Balance EQ and compression for a clear, natural voice
Level and normalize audio for consistent volume throughout
Master to podcast loudness standards (consistent across episodes)
Remove long pauses, tighten timing, and cut obvious mistakes (light editorial polish)
Deliver final files ready to upload (WAV + MP3)
Files / workflow:
Audio is recorded in Reaper. I can provide:
A single consolidated WAV file or
Stems (voice tracks) or
The full Reaper project if needed
Please include your preferred workflow and what you need from me to start.
Deliverables:
Final mastered WAV (24-bit preferred) + MP3 (320kbps)
Optional: a "cleaned but unmastered" version if that helps your process
Notes on any issues you find (clipping, bad sections, etc.)
What I'm looking for:
Proven experience editing and mastering spoken-word podcasts
Strong ear for natural voice tone (not over-processed or "radio-announcer" unless requested)
Consistent results and reliable turnaround
Good communication and willingness to iterate early on to dial in a signature sound
