Your new roleYou will begin by providing maternity cover for the Senior Legal Counsel, giving you exposure to a dynamic blend of employment,mercial and contractual dispute work. Your caseload will span termination advice for self‑employed individuals, Equality Act considerations, internal investigations, assessment of claims, and representation on internalernancemittees.As the cover period concludes, the role transitions into a more employment‑focused remit. You will advise on the full range of employment matters, support litigation, and work closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams - including HR/People, Operations and Clinical teams - alongside external advisers.This is a hands‑on, varied role offering autonomy, influence and the chance to shape high‑quality employment law support across the organisation. You will contribute to policy development, strategic projects, dispute management, IR35 considerations and internal training, while balancing day‑to‑day advisory work with wider organisational impact.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Qualification as a Solicitor (England & Wales) with approximately 2+ years’ PQE, bringing experience from an in‑house team or a respected law firm
2. Solid experience across both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters, including day‑to‑day advisory work to managing litigation
3. Confidence working with HR teams, senior stakeholders, operations teams, clinicians and external advisers.
4. Excellent drafting, analytical andmunication skills, with the ability to translateplexity into clear,mercially focused guidance.
5. Ideally, experience working in‑house or any fast‑pacedmercial environment, withfort navigating a dynamic, growing organisation.
