Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Oxford, London & South
Salary: Highly Competitive (dependant on experience)

Working hours: 8–5, Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager / Operations Director.
The Role
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical installations across multiple projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Typically overseeing 1–2 projects at a time, working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and site teams on commercial mechanical projects up to the value of £2m (Mechanical) – Offices, Healthcare, Higher Education, Museums, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising all site-based mechanical activities, including HVAC, public health, and pipework installations, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and current regulations
Ensuring health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to at all times on site, including conducting toolbox talks, site inductions, and regular safety inspections
Coordinating and managing subcontract labour, materials, and site logistics to support efficient delivery of projects
Assisting the Project Manager in planning and delivering projects from pre-start through to completion and handover
Monitoring site progress against programme and reporting updates, risks, and issues to the Project Manager
Ensuring all mechanical installations meet required quality standards, including inspections, pressure testing, flushing, and snagging
Supporting the commissioning process, ensuring systems are installed and ready for commissioning and handover
Maintaining accurate site records, including daily reports, site diaries, RAMS, and quality documentation
Attending site meetings with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors as required
Providing technical guidance and support to mechanical trades, including pipefitters, plumbers, and HVAC engineers
Assisting in identifying and reporting variations and site changes
Supporting the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals and handover documentation
Working across multiple project sites with occasional visits to the Oxford office

Requirements
3–5+ years’ experience working as a Mechanical Supervisor or Senior Mechanical Tradesperson within commercial projects
Experience delivering mechanical installations (HVAC, public health, pipework) on projects ideally up to £1m–£2m value
Gold CSCS Card
SSSTS/SMSTS required
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and relevant regulations and standards
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
