Role Overview:
This role sits within the heart of the tooling and maintenance operation, ensuring that all newly produced injection mould tooling components meet the highest quality standards before being released to production. You will lead investigations, document inspections, and play a key role in tooling improvement projects and lifecycle assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough inspections on newly manufactured tooling components and trial outputs.
* Maintain accurate, detailed quality records and inspection documentation.
* Lead root cause investigations into product performance issues and customer concerns.
* Act as the tooling department's quality point of contact for internal audits and 8D investigations.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling design, wear, and repeat issues.
* Manage tooling insert data and documentation, including change tracking and usage analysis.
* Support decisions around tool replacement, maintenance cycles, and performance trends.
Key requirements:
* Proven experience in a quality-focused role within an engineering or manufacturing environment (preferably tooling/injection moulding).
* Working knowledge of IATF/ISO 9001 and IATF/ISO 14001 standards from regulated sectors.
* Proficient in using advanced inspection tools such as CMM Inspection Machines, 3D scanners, and vision systems.
* Skilled in data analysis techniques - familiarity with Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies desirable.
* Strong communication and organisational skills; comfortable liaising across departments and presenting findings.
* Highly computer literate with experience in tracking quality metrics, trend analysis, and digital documentation.
