We are working with a leading international law firm to hire an AML & Conflicts Assistant in London. In this role, you’ll be part of the team responsible for supporting the firm’s compliance operations by handling conflict checks, new matter reviews, and post-inception requirements, including client due diligence.
The firm is looking for a detail-focused professional with prior experience in a compliance, paralegal or administrative capacity- ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Candidates should have a solid understanding of risk and compliance processes, including conflicts, AML and CDD.
The responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating client onboarding, including conflict checks and due diligence
* Conducting thorough conflict checks using internal databases and external sources
* Performing risk screenings for AML, sanctions, PEPs, and other red flags
* Supporting the creation and audit of information barriers
* Managing post-inception requirements, including risk assessments and documentation
* Liaising with fee earners to ensure complete and accurate compliance records
* Completing verification checks and maintaining records in line with regulations
* Identifying and escalating high-risk issues during client onboarding
* Carrying out audits and file reviews on existing matters
* Assisting with training and policy development in compliance-related areas
* Responding to queries and supporting the wider Compliance team as needed
