Were on the lookout for a Senior Ecologist to join a well:established consultancy based in York. Youll have the chance to work on a wide variety of projects : from local conservation initiatives to major infrastructure developments. What Were Looking For
* Previous experience working in ecological consultancy or a related field.
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline : a Masters or PhD would be a bonus.
* Strong skills in ecological survey methods, data analysis, and report writing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Solid knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and ecological best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies across a range of projects.
* Conduct and supervise fieldwork, including protected species surveys, habitat evaluations, and ongoing ecological monitoring.
* Prepare high:quality ecological reports, impact assessments, and tailored mitigation strategies.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, offering expert advice and building strong, professional relationships.
* Support and guide junior ecologists, with opportunities to take on mentoring responsibilities.
* Ensure all project work complies with relevant environmental legislation, planning policies, and best practice standards.
