Are you an inspiring people leader who can shape culture, drive transformation, and help an organisation deliver life-changing support?
My client is looking for a forward-thinking Director of People and Culture to join their senior leadership team and design and lead their People and Organisational Development strategy for years to come.
In this pivotal, strategic role, you’ll ensure their people strategy enables every colleague to thrive — fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and professional growth. You’ll work collaboratively with senior leaders to align people priorities with business goals, enhance employee experience, and champion a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered.
Key responsibilities of the Director of People and Culture:
* Lead the development and delivery of our People and Organisational Development Strategy.
* Oversee all areas of the People function, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, learning & development, and equality, diversity & inclusion.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation across people practices, using data, technology, and insight to deliver measurable results.
* Ensure compliance with all employment, legal, and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with senior leaders to build capacity, capability, and a high-performing culture.
* Represent the People function at Board and executive level, influencing long-term strategy and planning.
Key requirements for the Director of People and Culture:
* You’ll be an experienced and proven senior HR leader who is currently working or have recently worked at Director level within HR.
* It is essential that you have worked for large, multi-faceted organisations in the past (circa (Apply online only) employees) with varied and diverse workforces.
* It is also essential that you have led and motivated senior HR leaders with an overall responsibility for a large HR function.
* You will have a track record of delivering organisational change, learning & design and developing high-performing teams.
* You must be able to evidence a combination of recent strategic vision with hands-on leadership and have a deep understanding of how people strategy drives impact.
* Significant experience leading people and culture functions at a senior level.
* Proven ability to shape strategy and deliver results through collaboration.
* You will be a charismatic leader who is able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
* You will have the ability to engage and network effectively with organisations within the public, private and voluntary sectors.
* Ideally you will have experience of being a part of an organisation who is recognised as a Great Place to Work® and understand the complexities of maintaining this status.
* Strong knowledge of employment law, organisational development, and best practice in employee experience.
* A passion for values-led leadership and creating a positive workplace culture.
