About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Sport to join our Sport department at The Bedford College Group on a Fixed Term basis.
Responsibilities
* Planning & Preparation – Design relevant schemes of work and lesson plans tailored to learner needs, ensuring full syllabus coverage and engaging learning resources, including work experience planning where required.
* Classroom Management & Delivery – Create a safe, inclusive, and well‑managed learning environment, using varied teaching strategies to engage learners, encourage participation, and support individual progress.
* Assessment & Progress Monitoring – Conduct initial assessments, set and mark assignments, maintain accurate records of learner achievement, and provide constructive feedback to support development.
* Teamwork & Quality Assurance – Contribute to course development, attend team meetings, support marketing activities, and uphold quality standards through active participation in reviews and learner feedback.
* Professional Conduct & Statutory Duties – Embrace continuous professional development, promote safeguarding, equality, and health & safety, and maintain a professional approach aligned with The Bedford College Group’s values.
About You
* Qualifications & Industry Expertise – Degree‑level qualification in a relevant subject, Level 3+ in maths or English, teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain), and up‑to‑date vocational skills with industry experience.
* Teaching & Learning Skills – Ability to teach using varied approaches and learning modes, solve problems in practical sessions, and apply health and safety knowledge effectively.
* Communication & Presentation – Clear presentation skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to motivate, inspire, and demonstrate effectively.
* Professionalism & Development – Commitment to continuous professional development, staying current in your field, being a reflective practitioner, and championing quality assurance in a target‑driven environment.
* Teamwork & Organisation – A good team player with strong organisational and time management skills, flexibility, data analysis capabilities, and a learner‑focused mindset.
