The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll play a central role within our project and management team in the Water Industry. You will plan, coordinate, and manage all mechanical aspects of projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
* Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of mechanical projects.
* Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Take ownership of project deliverables, from initial work scope, timings, and costs to final on-site delivery.
* Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
* Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements aligned to project requirements.
* Collaborate with the project team to improve the quality of information sent to site.
* Proactively manage project changes, risks, and issues.
* Ensure strict adherence to work scope and manage any variations.
* Track project financial performance and prepare periodic cost reports.
* Serve as the main point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.
* Contribute to project close-out and lessons learned processes.
* Enforce quality assurance and control during design and construction phases.
* Promote and uphold safety compliance across all project sites.
* Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure standards are met consistently.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
* BTEC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong background in mechanical engineering and project delivery.
* Awareness of financial and commercial impacts on project success.
* Motivated, driven, and enthusiastic about achieving results.
* Customer-focused with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Highly organised with excellent time management abilities.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Committed to promoting a culture of Continuous Improvement.
