At Salford we currently have 23 clinical areas over two floors covering major complex Neurosurgical and Spinal Surgery, Renal access surgery, Pain Service, complex ENT procedures, Neuro X Ray including a 24 hour stroke service, MR Scan supporting scans for complex patients requiring general anaesthetic, General surgical procedures including upper and lower GI, Gynaecology and Urology, Orthopaedics, as well as two 24 hour emergency theatres.

The off-duty covers a 7 day week using early and late shifts running from 07:30 to 20:00 with emergencies running 24/7. Due to the nature of the specialities variation to shift patterns may be required; some rotation onto nights will be a future development. Shift patterns can be discussed at interview. Main duties of the job
You will be proactive in providing a seamless service to all patients during their theatre journey and will have the ability to support all junior staff and students. There will be additional responsibilities that may be allocated by the team leaders, these will be done following discussion and completion of the trust's 'Contribution Framework' which is completed by all SRFT employees. You will need to demonstrate effective communication and be able to take charge of a theatre and in some cases the department when the need arises. You will be a Registered ODP or Qualified Nurse with an Anaesthetic Qualification and be able to demonstrate continued professional development.
Alongside the Trust's SCARF programme, we are tailoring a Bespoke Wellbeing Programme, specifically for staff within our theatre department. This will involve a team of wellbeing champions, fast track physiotherapy, stress tool kits and wellbeing cafes.
We are a developing department and have developed new ways to develop team structures, including "You Said We Did" and staff council, this in turn gives staff the voice they need to help the development within the department.
Supporting the team with appraisals, welcome back health reviews and other link roles within the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2) Or Registration with Health and Care Professions Council HCPC
* ODP qualification or Anaesthetic Nurse Qualification
* Relevant experience in anaesthetics as a band 5
* Degree in Nursing Studies/Degree in Operating Department practice
* Relevant experience in anaesthetics as a band 6
* Leadership Course
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Evidence of professional expertise acquired through CPD
* Evidence of leading/managing a team.
