Job Description:
My client is a successful and fast growth data intelligence and security risk management tech company.
They are now embarking on an innovative strategy integrating tech solutions to their strong data analytical capabilities, and are looking to hire a Software Team Lead to spearhead that strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and drive the design of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems
* Provide suitable integration with front end solutions.
* Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of, and striving to become an authority on, all systems and languages
* Identify technical risks early and provide clear, pragmatic solutions
* Review and provide feedback on technical designs, requirements, and documentation
* Promote best practices across software engineering, with a strong focus on code quality, CI/CD, documentation and data governance best practices
* Interact with Data Science and Intelligence teams to help set development priorities and roadmap.
This role will initially managing two engineers with plans to grow and work alongside the growing delivery team of five.
As this is a new and growing role, it will involve being hands-on to begin with, as you establish the architecture and implement new tools, frameworks and platforms.
Demonstrable experience in the following areas is required:
* Team leadership positions, in both technical deliverables and people management
* Responsibility for architecture and technical solutions.
* Strategic planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives and vision.
* Extensive hands-on software engineering background, primarily based around their core data capabilities of Python, Databricks, AWS, Azure.
* Ideally, you will have a background of working within data analytics/data intelligence organisations.
* Strong experience designing, building, and supporting infrastructure in cloud environments.
* Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts and patterns
* Info and data security
* Solid experience with container orchestration systems and how to manage workloads
This is a hybrid role - their offices are located in central London.
Please note - it is essential that you have SC clearance, or are eligible for it.
This is an exciting role, as you will have responsibility for architecture, technical selection (languages, tools, frameworks, etc.) - you can make significant impact to the on-going success of the organisation.
