Nurse Assessor / Functional Assessor – Hybrid | Guildford
£40,000 + £2,000 approval bonus + performance bonus + benefits. Full-time only.
Use your clinical skills without shifts, weekends, or hands-on care. We’re recruiting Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists for a full-time, hybrid Functional Assessor role based in Guildford.
Role overview
Full-time permanent role with office hours, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working with typically two days per week onsite in Guildford. Assessments completed via telephone, video, or face-to-face. Structured consultations using secure digital systems. All appointments are pre-booked. The role focuses on assessment, clinical reasoning, and report writing.
Responsibilities
The role As a Functional Assessor, you will carry out structured assessments to understand how a person’s physical or mental health condition affects their day-to-day functioning.
* Conduct structured clinical conversations using professional judgement
* Review medical evidence and supporting documentation
* Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports
* Use secure clinical systems and digital templates
* Contribute reports used to support formal disability benefit decisions
* There is no hands-on treatment, no prescribing, no on-call work, and no manual handling
What you’ll need
* You must be registered as one of the following:
o Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with NMC registration
o Physiotherapist with HCPC registration
o Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
* A minimum of 12 months post-registration experience
* Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
* Confidence with report writing and IT systems
* Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment
* You must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
Pay, progression and benefits
* £40,000 salary
* £2,000 approval bonus
* Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
