Job Title: National Account Manager - Healthy Snacking Champion
About the Role: Develop partnerships with new customers unlocking new opportunities within Food to Go, Meal Deals and extend our presence within convenience symbol, wholesale and forecourt accounts that have potential for growth. Unlock the ambition to grow the Convenience business. Develop and execute business plans, including promotion plans, with all symbol retailers in line with the Bel Category Vision and our Healthy snack category vision to build successful relationships with key retail partners. Manage all Sales financial reports analysis & development for the channel and work proactively alongside key stakeholders including Marketing, Category, Shopper, and Supply to develop and land Price Mark Packs where relevant for this channel.
The National Account Manager – Healthy Snacking Champion will report into a Head of Channel.
This is a fixed term contract for 1 year with possibility to be made permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
1. Open doors and secure listings in targeted channels by establishing strong relationships with key decision-makers.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for newly onboarded accounts, ensuring smooth implementation and continuous growth.
3. Negotiate favourable terms with retail partners to maximise visibility, distribution, and placement of our products, and closing deals
4. Develop and nurture long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs, addressing challenges, and identifying areas for mutual growth.
5. Consistently monitor account performance, sharing insights and recommendations to ensure maximum profitability.
Business Development:
6. Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities across untapped channels to expand the healthy snacking category (This could involve researching potential clients, attending industry events, and networking to build relationships).
7. Build a sales pipeline by targeting strategic partners within channels such as Symbols, Wholesalers, Food-to-Go, and forecourts.
8. Collaborate with marketing to develop impactful pitches and tailored category insights that resonate with customers.
Other Responsibilities:
9. Manages all internal financial reporting for the accounts ( Xtel, Month end accruals, )
10. Maintain and manage all trade promotion plans
11. Leads or sponsors sales projects on an ad-hoc basis
Required Skills, Experience & Candidate Specification:
12. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FMCG sales environment with direct experience of engaging and negotiating with Retailers
13. Experience and knowledge of the Convenience retail market
14. Experience working within chilled convenience preferred and / or experience of working in the snacking environment
15. Presentation skills / Analytical skills / PC software skills
16. Positive team attitude & Proactive
17. Good negotiation & Communication skills
18. Customer focussed, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
