Avery Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join the team at Hempstalls Hall Care Home located in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The role involves providing high standards of personal care to residents, ensuring their dignity and independence. The position is permanently contracted, with shifts from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm. No prior experience is required as full training and induction are provided.
Job responsibilities
* Assist residents in all personal hygiene care, ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect at all times.
* Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infection and raise any identified risks in a timely manner.
* Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting each resident’s dignity and individuality.
* Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the care team and residents.

* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Demonstrate initiative, respect and efficiency in the workplace.
* Be an adaptable and flexible worker able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
* Have the ability to follow reasonable instructions from other team members.
* No previous experience required; we provide thorough induction and training.

* Shift details: 7:30 am–2:30 pm and 2:30 pm–9:30 pm.
* DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
