If so, we have just the role for you at our Head Office in Northampton. Join our successful team as a Human Resources/Health & Safety Assistant and embark on an exciting journey with us.

About Acumen

We are Acumen, specialists in Automotive Logistics. If it's automotive, we move it—cars, trucks, or parts. Our commitment to service and innovation has propelled us into the UK's top 100 logistics companies, serving some of the nation's most successful businesses. Our team thrives on passion, collaboration, and a drive to continually improve.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for individuals who flourish in fast-paced environments and enjoy tackling new challenges daily. Believe me, you will never be bored

You will support the Human Resources/Health & Safety Manager and collaborate closely with all departments, taking on a range of responsibilities, including:

· Managing and updating the new HR system

· Drafting contract amendments and salary adjustment letters

· Assisting with disciplinary and grievance meetings, including note-taking

· Placing advertisements and conducting initial interviews

· Ensuring Health & Safety documentation is distributed and responses collected

· Assisting with diary management

· Assisting with updating HR policies, handbooks, and terms & conditions

· Serving as the first point of contact for a range of HR and Health & Safety queries

· Providing general administrative support for both HR and Health & Safety functions

· Travelling to depots across the UK to audit files and ensure compliance with controlled systems and procedures

· Answering the phone and general office duties

· Completing ad hoc tasks as needed

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in HR or Health & Safety or who is working towards a relevant qualification. This role will involve lots of on-the-job training and support and additional courses will be supplied for the right candidate. Building relationships across the group and a willingness to travel, sometimes requiring overnight stays, are important. A good sense of humour is also valued

Success in this role requires excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You should be a confident communicator, able to engage with colleagues at every level—from drivers to directors—and with external partners. Resilience, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

If this role matches your experience and aspirations, please apply. We look forward to hearing from you.
