Senior Pensions Administrator – WTW


Overview

We are hiring for a Senior Pensions Administrator who will be based in one of our offices in Welwyn, Leeds or Redhill. In this role you will make a difference within our leading pensions administration business, working with a portfolio of prestigious global clients.

As Senior Pensions Administrator, you will perform advanced calculations and administration of complex schemes (DB and/or DC), mentor and check the work of junior colleagues, and support the team in achieving service level agreements.


Responsibilities

* Accurately process and manage complex pensions calculations and queries across a variety of pension processes and case types such as Retirements, Transfers, and Deaths, completing cases to a high standard with accurate and well‑worded correspondence in a timely manner.
* Check and monitor work completed by junior colleagues, providing feedback and guidance to ensure work is right first time and output targets are met.
* Act as a point of escalation for technical issues, non‑standard cases, and member complaints.
* Utilise knowledge of pension legislation, regulations, WTW guidance and procedures to ensure daily work is of a high quality.
* Support the Team Leader in ensuring that all service level agreements and performance standards are achieved and take responsibility for coordinating team workload.
* Coaching, supporting, and mentoring junior colleagues to develop the wider team.
* Continuously identify service improvement opportunities and drive process improvements.
* Assist in complex and project‑based work as required.


Qualifications

* Previous experience working in an occupational pension administration team, with DB and/or DC experience essential, carrying out administration processes including Retirements, Transfers, and Deaths.
* Experience and knowledge of pension legislation and regulations and applying them within an administration team in response to changes or new legislation.
* Experience and knowledge of DB manual calculations required for a variety of administration processes.
* High level of attention to detail and ability to follow procedural documentation and check the work of others.
* Ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, managing own workload and multiple client member queries concurrently while maintaining a high‑quality service.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Experience of coaching and supporting less experienced colleagues.
* Experience of working in a hybrid/multi‑site team is an advantage.
