Duties of the Senior Vehicle Technician include:
10. Conduct advanced diagnostics, fault finding and repairs on all makes and models, including petrol, diesel, and hybrid vehicles
11. Perform complex mechanical repairs such as cylinder head work, timing belt and chain replacements, and clutch repairs
12. Service and repair engine management and emissions systems, including DPF, SCR, and AdBlue systems
13. Accurately diagnose vehicle faults and effectively communicate findings to the service reception team
14. Complete repairs to manufacturer and industry standard times using appropriate tools and techniques
15. Document all work thoroughly and maintain precise service records
16. Work safely in accordance with workshop health and safety procedures and standards
Candidate specification for the Senior Vehicle Technician role:
17. NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
18. Minimum 10 years experience in a busy automotive workshop environment
19. Proven ability to perform complex diagnostics and mechanical repairs independently
20. Strong understanding of modern vehicle electronic and emissions systems
21. Full UK driving licence
22. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
23. Professional communication skills with colleagues and customers
24. Relevant qualifications such as MOT testing and manufacturer training are a plus
