Ob Title: Planner and Tenant Liaison Officer Location: Atherstone Contract Type: Temporary Salary: £14.82 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 4:00pm About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Planner and Tenant Liaison Officer to join our Housing, Communities and Economic Development team. This is a vital role supporting the delivery of our housing repairs service, including day-to-day repairs, voids, and planned maintenance. You’ll work as part of a busy team, responding to tenant enquiries, scheduling repair work, and supporting the smooth running of the service through effective administration and communication. Key Responsibilities · Accurately diagnose repairs and use the resources available to plan the work within the required timescales. · Liaise closely with tenants to arrange access, explain and plan the work, discuss how it will be undertaken and deal with their enquiries. · Be able to give technical advice to tenants about repairs and explain both the Council’s responsibilities and those of tenants. · Liaise with tenants, contractors, and other departments to provide timely updates and support · Contribute to service improvements and maintain high standards of customer care · Support compliance with Health and Safety and Council policies · Assist with monitoring workloads, performance targets, and service delivery What We’re Looking For · Recent experience working directly with customers, particularly over the phone · Strong administrative skills and confidence using computer systems (including Microsoft Office) · Experience in a similar clerical or support role · NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths · Good organisational and time management skills · Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and prioritise tasks · A professional, calm and approachable manner · Awareness of health and safety, equality, and diversity in the workplace Additional Information * This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, requiring a good standard of spoken English * Flexibility in working hours may be required to support service needs * Training and support will be provided as part of your induction * This is an office-based role within a supportive and collaborative team environment * Be able to give technical advice to tenants about repairs and explain both the Council’s responsibilities and those of tenants.
