Job Description
As a Software Development Team Leader, you will drive innovation, mentor top talent and shape the future of our platform with cutting‑edge technology to deliver optimal software solutions. Risk and regulatory compliance is vital to our success; you will develop and support critical site functionality and operational tooling. In a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, you’ll lead delivery of new features, functionality and maintenance work‑pieces, supporting the growth of the team.
We are looking for a leader with a strong background in software development, excellent organisational, problem‑solving and people skills. This role is eligible for the Company’s hybrid working-from‑home policy.
Qualifications
* Forward thinking, with ability to challenge the norm.
* Ability to work proactively in a reactive environment.
* Passion for software development and creating efficient processes and best practices.
* Self‑motivated with a strong drive to succeed.
* Capable of handling large workloads with rapid context switching.
* Strong appreciation of knowledge sharing and mentoring.
* Knowledge in at least one backend language, or all of the following: .Net, MS SQL, Python, React, Typescript, Golang, and GCP.
* Knowledge of version control and code repositories.
* Knowledge of micro‑service and distributed system architectures.
* Degree in Computer Science or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Additional Information
* Ensuring timely provision of agreed deliverables throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), by understanding both Business and technical requirements.
* Working alongside Technical Leads and Senior Developers to determine the most suitable technical solution.
* Scheduling and planning development resources according to Business needs.
* Tracking and reporting progress.
* Mitigating risk and resolving blockers throughout the work.
* Collaborating with other teams within the Business as required.
* Investigating bugs raised and communicating with other teams to resolve them, while enforcing governance of best practices.
* Acting as a point of escalation for the team both during and outside office hours.
* Recognising team members’ strengths and mentoring them to encourage continuous improvement.
* Chairing team meetings, one‑to‑one sessions and feeding into team appraisals.
