Senior Estates Surveyor – National Portfolio
Our client is a UK market leader with a significant nationwide property portfolio of over 900 stores. Due to continued growth within their Estates team, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estates Surveyor to take a leading role in managing and optimising a substantial UK-wide leasehold estate.
This position would suit an ambitious property professional with a background in estates management, corporate real estate, or asset management, looking to take ownership of a large and diverse portfolio while contributing to wider property strategy. You will join an established and well-regarded estates team.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a diverse leasehold property portfolio across the UK, ensuring effective estate management and optimal utilisation of assets
• Lead lease renewals and rent reviews, negotiating commercially advantageous terms in line with business strategy
• Liaise closely with company solicitors on lease interpretation, clauses and associated legal matters
• Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to design and deliver internal layouts, refurbishments and store fit-outs
• Review and authorise property-related expenditure, including rent, service charges and insurance costs
• Maintain and update the property management database, ensuring accurate records across the estate
• Identify and secure new locations or relocation opportunities, negotiating Heads of Terms to support business expansion
• Manage the disposal of surplus or underperforming assets, including assignments, sub-letting or lease expiries
• Oversee building maintenance and repair programmes across the estate to maintain operational standards
The Person
• RICS accredited degree, ideally MRICS qualified (or working towards)
• Circa 3+years' experience within estates management, corporate real estate, or asset management
• Strong experience in lease management, rent reviews, and landlord negotiations
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance operational estate management with strategic asset decisions
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable liaising with legal teams, agents and contractors
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to locations across the UK
