Job Description
Heriot Brown is working with a large international financial services group on an opportunity for a Legal Counsel with funds experience to join their London team. This role sits within a specialist function supporting investment management, capital markets activity, and alternative risk transfer, offering broad exposure across funds, structured products and cross-border transactions.
The Role
You’ll work closely with investment, structuring and capital markets teams across Europe and the US, advising on a wide range of activities. The work will include:
1. Supporting the launch, structuring and governance of investment funds, including alternative strategies
2. Advising on capital markets transactions, including structured deals and risk-transfer products
3. Drafting, negotiating and overseeing documentation across investment, trading and capital markets activity
4. Helping the business navigate UK, EU and US regulatory frameworks (MiFID, AIFMD, broker/dealer requirements, investment adviser rules)
5. Managing multi-jurisdictional legal issues and coordinating with external counsel
6. Providing input on governance, risk management and regulatory change affecting investment and capital markets operations
