NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

We are offering 1 permanent post, 37 hours per week, with shifts Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 and Friday 08:00 - 15:30.

Gartnavel General Hospital Estates Department seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic, resilient, and hardworking Maintenance Multi Skilled Electrical Technician to join our team. The role involves maintaining a wide range of building services plant and equipment, providing technical expertise, and ensuring safe and efficient systems of work.

The successful candidate will deliver electrical services to meet NHS GG&C Health Board needs by operating an effective estates service within healthcare facilities, ensuring the safe delivery of patient care, and providing planned maintenance, repair, and installation services that offer quality and value for money.

Responsibilities include inspecting faults in plant and machinery, recommending repairs, discussing impacts with managers and department heads, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and working in accordance with NHS GG&C health and safety policies and SHTM procedures. Minor alterations and modifications to existing services are also part of the role.

The role requires organizing and managing daily workload and priorities, participating in on-call duties for emergency repairs outside normal hours, and possessing a recognized electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (such as EITB, CITB, City & Guilds). Extensive relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare sector, and a qualification of HNC or equivalent are essential. Certification as an Electrical Competent Person will be required after training.
