Job Purpose:The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the craft at Ryde are maintained in accordance with the relevant maintenance scheduleMain areas of responsibility: Ensure that all maintenance requirements are provided in accordance with current legislation, MCA requirements and maintenance schedulesAttend training and to maintain a satisfactory knowledge of all operational and safety procedures which will allow for successful completion of all mandatory testsTo establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management and external contractors, carrying out all duties in an efficient, professional and courteous mannerCommunicate clearly and effectively with management, supervisors and co-workersExecution of preventative and corrective maintenance programmesConduct scheduled checks on craft, parts and ground equipmentDiagnose and repair faults and breakdown problemsOverhaul and replace parts according to maintenance scheduleMaintenance of safety equipment ensuring within certification datesConducting quality inspections on all work carried out Responding to craft breakdowns and dealing with emergency breakdowns as they occurRecommending cost efficient engineering solutionsEnsure compliance with all Company Quality Management System, and regulatory body requirementsEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with documented safe working practices and in accordance with Permits to Work and department engineering risk assessmentsTake responsibility for personal Health and Safety; and that of others in the working environmentWorking required shifts to maintain the Hovertravel operational serviceWorking on-call as required by Supervisors and in accordance with the shift requirements
