Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton. The role involves developing a miniature deployable system for analysing microparticles in water as part of the three‑year European project Aquamon, providing an opportunity to collaborate closely with partners across Europe.
Responsibilities
* Design, fabricate and test microfluidic systems for water analysis.
* Develop sensors, electronics and associated processing software.
* Lead the preparation of reports, presentations to the consortium and research papers.
* Manage research activities, organise time, tasks and responsibilities with team members.
* Collaborate effectively across disciplines within ECS and the wider Aquamon consortium.
Qualifications and Experience
* PhD or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant physical or engineering science.
* Demonstrated expertise in micro‑fluidic system design and fabrication.
* Proven skills in sensors, micro‑fabrication, electronics and programming.
* Strong self‑motivation, organisational and communication skills.
* Experience of leading technical outputs such as reports and publications.
