Controls Engineer - Doncaster
Overview
Our client is an engineering business that supply machinery and equipment to customers across the UK and internationally. This exciting opportunity is critical to ensure continued growth of their automation function, developing and delivering PLC-based control systems. We would like to hear from you if you are an experienced controls engineer or an electrical engineer with a passion for transitioning into controls engineering.
The role
This is a hands‑on position which is based in house at Doncaster with regular travelling to customers' sites, usually UK based and occasionally overseas. You will be writing control software and executing design and commissioning tasks for PLC-based control systems. Working with HMI platforms, safety systems, inverters and industrial communication networks and providing support to the electrical and commissioning departments by ensuring efficient administration, regulatory compliance and organising technical documentation.
Requirements
It is essential that applicants have a recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent) along with proven experience in an electrical service, installation or maintenance role. You will have experience working with machinery, control panels or automation systems and the ability to fault‑find on industrial or commercial electrical systems. Ideally you will have completed 18th Edition and have commissioning experience.
Benefits
* Salary: Depending on experience, skills and abilities, the controls engineer can expect overtime to be paid at x1.5 over 40 hours and x2 on Sundays, all expenses paid.
* Hours of work: Monday to Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm, finishing at 4 30 pm on Fridays.
