We have an exciting role on offer within our Economic Growth service as a Business Sector Support Officer.
Middlesbrough Council’s Economic Growth Service is seeking two proactive and experienced Business Sector Support Officers to contribute to the town’s regeneration and the growth of key business sectors. Based at our modern Fountain Court offices, you will work within a dynamic, supportive team dedicated to delivering the Council’s vision and the Mayor’s priorities.
Key Responsibilities: -
* Undertake business engagement activities, building and maintaining strong relationships with businesses, partners and support providers.
* Deliver a range of business support solutions aligned to Middlesbrough’s priority sectors as well as businesses operating within the town’s vital everyday economy.
* Coordinate economic intelligence to support evidence-based decision making, identify gaps and monitor trends.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across Regeneration and the wider Council to share insight and deliver service objectives.
About You:
* Experienced in business support, with a proven ability to engage and work effectively with business owners.
* Solid understanding of regeneration principles, business structures and the needs of startup and growing businesses.
* Knowledge of local economic conditions and political context.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship management skills.
* Self motivated, proactive, able to work at pace both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible, enthusiastic and committed to supporting Middlesbrough’s economic growth.
