Role Responsibility

Part-Time 2 Vacancies Available
Base Location: Ashford Community Day Service, working across Ashford, Hythe, New Romney and Folkestone services.

We are excited to offer two part-time opportunities within our Community Day Services team, supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities in East Kent. As a Support Worker, you will help individuals develop essential life skills, use, and be part of their local communities, and achieve their personal goals.

No Experience? No Problem!

To succeed in this role, youll need to bring:

4. Reliability and responsibility being dependable and trustworthy
5. Teamwork working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals

About the Role

You will work as part of a team both in our dedicated building spaces supporting with activities such as cooking, arts and crafts and boccia, and within the local community supporting trips to go fishing, swimming, sailing and bowling to name a few. You will deliver person-centred, outcome-focused support. Your role will involve:

6. Supporting individuals to achieve personal goals and aspirations
7. Promoting independence through tailored care plans
8. Encouraging social inclusion and community participation
9. Assisting with some intimate personal care and mobility needs, including manual handling
10. Collaborating with colleagues across East Kent services as needed
11. If you are able to drive our service vehicles, this would be great though not essential.

This is a customer-facing role, and you will be expected to demonstrate a good command of spoken English to meet the requirements of the Immigration Act (2016).

14. Training in manual handling, medication, and other mandatory modules
15. Minibus driver training (if required)
16. Ongoing development opportunities, including the chance to gain a Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

You must be a UK resident with the appropriate right to work documentation. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role
