Job Description
DP World is growing! We have exciting opportunities for a BI Developer to join our fast-paced Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will support multiple business units by designing, developing, and implementing Power BI solutions to drive data-driven insights and enable informed decision-making across the organization. This remote role is ideally based around the Midlands region and requires a strong grasp of data analysis and visualization concepts, with proficiency in Power BI.
About the role:
1. Serve as the key contact for regional management of the BI environment, focusing on technical aspects of BI solutions.
2. Collaborate with operations teams and senior management to gather requirements for dashboards.
3. Translate complex operational data requirements into meaningful visualizations and dashboards using Power BI.
4. Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly dashboards that communicate KPIs and metrics effectively.
5. Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
6. Recommend improvements to data models, sources, and visualization techniques.
7. Conduct data profiling and cleansing to ensure data quality and integrity.
8. Work with data engineers and stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration into Power BI.
9. Stay updated on trends and best practices in data visualization and Power BI.
10. Provide training and support to end-users.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred, or equivalent experience.
* Essential experience as a BI Developer, with a focus on Power BI, in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in DAX and M language.
* Expertise in Power BI data modeling, DAX calculations, and report/dashboard creation.
* Strong understanding of data analysis, visualization principles, and best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Strong analytical skills for working with datasets.
* Knowledge of database platforms, data lakes, warehousing, and BI system administration.
* Experience with SQL, data warehousing, and data integration is desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to derive insights from complex data.
* Knowledge of other BI tools like Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
