About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of SHEQ to lead our safety, environmental, and quality initiatives across factory and site operations. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to embed a high-performance SHEQ culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a busy manufacturing and project environment.
What You'll Do
1. Develop and lead SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
2. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation, including CDM
3. Oversee internal audits, inspections, and management systems, implementing corrective actions as needed
4. Lead a team of SHEQ professionals across health, safety, environmental, and quality disciplines
5. Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and certification audits
6. Support tendering and client-facing activities with SHEQ documentation and expertise
7. Lead training, inductions, and safety culture initiatives across factory, site, and subcontractors
8. Promote occupational health and wellbeing among the workforce
9. Monitor environmental impact, sustainability KPIs, and support the journey to Net Zero
10. Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, HR, and Project teams to uphold high SHEQ standards
What We're Looking For
1. Proven experience in a senior HSEQ/SHEQ role within manufacturing, construction, or engineering
2. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), IOSH membership, and Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001/14001/45001) preferred
3. A collaborative and confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
4. Deep understanding of health risk management, environmental compliance, and quality control processes
5. Comfortable with both strategic planning and hands-on implementation
6. Track record of fostering a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
