We are recruiting for a Fostering Engagement Social Worker to be part of our existing services based in Chesterfield and Bromsgrove which are currently actively looking to recruit new Foster Carers in Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire, Birmingham and Wolverhampton to help grow our Fostering Service and develop a recruitment plan to expand our national footprint. The post holder will require creativity, flexibility, and the ability to travel within the service area to plan and deliver recruitment events to expand our Foster Carer Family and capacity to provide high‑quality foster placements for children. This is a forward‑facing role working in communities, seeking opportunities to engage with prospective candidates who may wish to become approved Foster Carers. You will have experience working within Fostering Sector, either with an IFA or in the Local Authority. You will need the skills and knowledge to complete initial home visits through to Form F assessment and presentation at an independent panel. You will work with and be supervised by the National Carer Recruitment Manager, and the local foster service manager will also support you in meeting our aspirations to grow our service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the drive and ambition to provide more high‑quality foster placements for children in the area where we know there is a shortfall of foster families and children who need their care. We offer opportunities for your progression and further training within the organisation; we are proud to have our ethos accredited with a Gold Investors in People award. You will receive regular supervision and support.
Five Rivers Child Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People. Applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS check.
Hours: The role is 37.5 hours per week; you must be flexible to support our families and recruitment events across the service area. This could include evenings and weekends. We will discuss this further with you at the interview.
