Full Time, Permanent. Salary up to £30,000 DOE + Bonus.
About the Role
The Workshop Controller ensures the workshop runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. They guarantee all repairs and servicing are completed to a high standard, on time, and following company and manufacturer guidelines. The role acts as the main link between the front desk, technicians, and parts team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assign jobs to technicians based on their skills and workload.
* Keep the workshop running efficiently and on schedule.
* Ensure all work meets quality standards.
* Update the service team on job progress and completion times.
* Help technicians with technical questions when needed.
* Ensure health and safety rules are followed.
* Check that job cards are completed correctly.
* Work with the parts team to get parts on time.
* Spot delays and fix workflow issues.
* Check completed work before vehicles are returned to customers.
* Support training and development of the team.
* Help meet targets such as productivity and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
* Experience working in a vehicle workshop or similar environment.
* Good at organising work and managing time.
* Ability to lead and support a team.
* Clear communication with different departments.
* Understanding of vehicle repairs and servicing.
* Attention to detail and quality.
* Problem solving ability under pressure.
* Comfortable working in a busy, fast‑paced setting.
* Basic understanding of health and safety in a workshop.
* Motivation to help the business meet its targets.
