The Opportunity

An amazing opportunity to come in at ground level, "own" finance all the way up to Board level, and work with a seasoned turnaround CEO on a mission to take this company to new heights. A rapid boost up the financial career ladder.

As our Finance Director you will be responsible for capturing and overseeing allfinancial transactions in Xero, producing monthly management accounts, and ensuring reporting compliance. You will work closely with the leadership, and especially the CEO, to provide insights that drive business growth.

Your responsibilities will vary, however, some of them will be: Financial Management: Invoice customers, process supplier bills, ensure collections and payments and maintain accurate records of revenues, expenses (including prepayments and accruals), and cash.
Revenue Recognition: Apply SaaS-specific revenue accounting principles e.g., deferred revenue, subscription-based models).
Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare budgets working as a partner to the CEO and be able to perform financial planning, cost analysis, and revenue projections.
Payroll Processing: Work with in-house HR to ensure correct compensation, benefits, and payments to staff and contractors.
Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and create slides with performance commentary for the Board, working as a partner to the CEO.
Tax & Audit Compliance: Work with external advisors to ensure adherence to tax and financial reporting compliance, including Audit.
Business Support: Stay on top of customer contracts and provide finance support to sales and operations teams.
Stakeholder management: manage the day-to-day relationships with investors and external lenders ensuring all financial reporting covenants are delivered on time to lenders.
Requirements

What we expect from you: Education: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Experience: 5-7 years post-qualification experience, ideally in a SaaS or EdTech company.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and financial analysis tools (Excel) and reporting tools (Powerpoint) .
Regulatory Knowledge: Sufficient understanding of tax laws, SaaS revenue recognition, and finance regulations to work with external advisors.
Analytical Ability: Pro-active problem-solving skills and ability to provide financial insights.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to collaborate with remote teams.
Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and meet deadlines remotely.
