The Role As Head of Science, you will: Lead and manage a large and successful Science department across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Coach, mentor and support teaching staff to ensure consistently high standards of classroom practice. Lead departmental self-evaluation, quality assurance and improvement planning. Promote a culture of high expectations, academic excellence and continuous professional development. The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Physics specialism ideally Have substantial experience teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach at Key Stage 5 desirable. Demonstrate successful leadership experience within a Science department. Possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Science education. Have a strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment and data analysis. Be committed to securing the highest standards of achievement for all students.
