Department Overview The plant quality department plays a key role in identifying and rectifying quality issues and opportunities in a timely manner so that it does not impact the customer. Job Purpose The quality road-test Technician will work with the production road-test team to evaluate the dynamic performance of every car to a set route and quality standard. They will also be able to repair any issues found and confirm that the car then meets the required standard. Key duties and responsibilities Receive each car and complete a safety check to ensure the car can be safely driven. Apply protection to the car to the required standard to protect the bodywork while on road test. Dynamically assess each vehicle to a calibrated, set standard. Repair and confirm vehicle to set standards Report and communicate issues effectively to the correct team. Confirm that any issues found have been resolved in a timely manner. Experience and Qualifications Essential experience Automotive experience (Paint / BiW / Assembly) Vehicle rectification. Strip and fit of vehicle to final quality standard. Confirm own work. In-depth understanding of overall vehicle construction Launch experience. Preferred experience Visual inspection experience Experience in inspection systems General knowledge of ISO9001 Experience using FLAGS system Good inter-personal skills Good diplomacy skills Logical problem-solving mind-set Able to work as part of a cross functional team or autonomously. Essential education/ qualifications Apprenticeship, GCSE passes Required skills/ behaviours Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with Quality and Production at all levels of the business. High attention to detail. High degree of numeracy and literacy. The ability to self-manage and work under pressure to deliver and thrive in an ever changing and dynamic environment. Additional information Ability to enter and exit vehicles. Carry out measurements on vehicles using appropriate tools and gauges. Carry out assembly and disassembly of vehicles to support Practical Problem-Solving activities. Full Driving License. Level 1; 2 AML Driving Permit.
