Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Patient Services Assistant Domestic.

Working Hours
15:00 – 20:00, 17.5 hour a week contract including some weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
* Clean specific areas in line with training and approved methods, NHS National cleaning standards and frequencies.
* Work according to the day‑to‑day schedule, as directed.
* Safely operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following appropriate training and be responsible for cleaning domestic services equipment after use.
* Work to prevent the spread of infection by following the National colour code system.
* Ensure that cleaning cupboards are locked and secured whenever they are not in use and be responsible for the security of key areas.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory training and attend other relevant training, as directed.
* Ensure compliance with relevant hospital policies and procedures.
* Report accidents and near‑miss or unsafe situations, so appropriate action can be taken.
* Treat patients, visitors and staff with dignity and respect.
* Undertake specialist cleaning where knowledge of different cleaning methodologies is required, resulting in the use of specific PPE.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role or as requested by line management.
* Undertake actions arising from cleaning audits within agreed timescales.

Qualifications and Training
* Ability to read and understand to the required standard.
* Basic education including Maths and English.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
Experience
* Understanding the importance of confidentiality.
* Experience of working in a hospital environment.
* Previous experience in a similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to carry out instructions accurately.
* Ability to undertake the physical aspects of the post.
* Basic IT skills.
Personal Attributes
* Flexible and reliable attitude to working arrangements.
* Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
