Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role has accountability for VAT, Instrastat and Branch Reporting in addition to project work that fosters our dedication to continuous improvement. The role is full time but part time, equivalent to 4 days per week, will be considered. A snapshot of the day-to-day role: VAT Prepare, review & submit VAT returns and European Sales Lists for EU & Non EU jurisdictions Ensure to file the VAT returns and European sales lists for European entities in line with deadlines Reconciliation of GL sales to reported VAT sales, monthly GL reconciliations & monthly GL journals Code import VAT and duty invoices. Ensure back-up documents are correct Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for on all transactions. Proactively support IT team to maintain VAT matrix, VAT rules and VAT rate codes, including testing Intrastat Review reports prepared for intrastat and prepare intrastat return(s) Ensure correct use of tariff codes and investigate errors and discrepancies Ensure country specific procedures are followed and all compliance requirements are met. Branch Reporting Prepare, coordinate, and monitor branch tax reporting and compliance for ten EU Branches. Produce timely tax analysis for Branch corporate tax returns and where required, local financial statements. Liaise and act as main point of contact for EU advisors in respect of all Branch tax matters. Conduct regular reviews of Branch activities to ensure compliance with current Transfer Pricing mechanism. Support EU Branch tax audits including coordination of the audit in person. What we are seeking… Accounting degree (or equivalent) or professional qualification such as ACCA (advantageous) Experience of VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales processes and reconciliations with a European remit (essential) Permanent establishment and transfer pricing Foundational knowledge (advantageous) Experience with Oracle, specifically Oracle Financials (advantageous) Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative with a desire to stretch own abilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently and question the 'status quo', with all levels within the business Excellent analytical/numerical skills - including strong attention to detail and Excel skills Independent and self-sufficient, with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and influence If you feel you would enjoy working in a fast paced and vibrant company, have an accounting qualification, experience in the areas of VAT, Intrastat and Sales processes with a European remint, we'd love to hear from you We offer a hybrid working model, competitive salary, bonus and company benefits including free parking, healthcare, employee discounts, wellbeing contribution, birthday day off and more.
