Senior Accountant – FX & Investments (Fixed-Term Contract)
Overview
Our client, a leading international organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Accountant – FX & Investments to join their finance team on a fixed-term contract until March 2027.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Leeds or London, offering flexible working arrangements. The role sits within a high-performing Investments & Foreign Exchange (FX) function and plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting across a complex, multi-currency environment.
This position is well suited to a technically strong accountant with exposure to FX, treasury, or investment reporting who is looking to make a measurable impact in a dynamic, global setting.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records in line with regulatory standards and internal policies
* Review balance sheet revaluations and FX-related accounting entries to ensure consistency and accuracy
* Analyse financial results, providing clear commentary on FX movements and key performance drivers
* Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and Investment teams to validate data, challenge anomalies, and resolve discrepancies
* Review investment transactions and data to ensure strong financial controls and reporting integrity
* Assess monthly hedging activities, including variance analysis and hedge effectiveness
* Support senior stakeholders through the preparation of technical papers, memos, and governance reporting
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes, reporting timelines, and internal controls
* Contribute to audit readiness and ensure timely delivery of internal and external reporting requirements
Requirements
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent preferred)
* Proven experience within a complex, multi-entity or multi-currency financial environment
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting standards, and internal controls
* Demonstrable experience with FX accounting, including revaluations, hedging, or exposure analysis
* Background in insurance or financial services preferred, though not essential
* Advanced analytical skills, with experience using tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or similar
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to work proactively, manage deadlines, and perform under pressure during reporting cycles
* Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
