We are seeking trustees to join our friendly team to support the charity's work supporting those with learning disabilities and/or autism to access social and leisure opportunities.
What difference will you make?
SAP provides its members with opportunities to build friendships and develop a sense of belonging, reducing feelings of loneliness. The supportive environment we provide fosters self-esteem and confidence and members can develop their social and communications skills as well as have access to meaningful activities
What are we looking for?
We are looking for commitment and enthusiasm for SAP and its members. Personal, professional or volunteer experience with learning disabilities and/or autism is not necessary but a willingness to spend time with our members to understand the needs of current and future service users is important. We need those individuals who have skills in keeping meetings and discussions focused and on track. The ability to work well in a small, collaborative team environment with an interest or experience in governance, marketing, finance or fundraising is important to SAP. A commitment to equality of opportunity is necssary.
What will you be doing?
SAP are looking for new trustees to join our board of trustees to support our existing 4 trustees. We became a CIO in 2022, after operating as a community group since 1995. The organisation has identified a number of skill gaps and would like to improve our governance. Several trustee roles are available, including secretary, and individuals with expertise in safeguarding, finance, organisation and administration, and marketing.
