Exciting role here at Tarmac: Mechanical Fitter working at our Tunstead Site.
This is a key role within the Cement Packing Plant for someone with a proactive approach to maintenance, plant optimisation, and self-development.
Reporting to the Packing Plant Maintenance Engineer and being part of the maintenance team, the job holder will be accountable for executing all preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and implementing plant improvements in the Packing Plant.
This role is an integral part of the Packing Plant, working as one team with operations personnel to ensure all KPIs are achieved daily, weekly, and annually.
The job requires gaining sound skills and knowledge of all plant equipment to enhance plant performance.
Relationships
OEM suppliers, engineering, mechanical & electrical suppliers, MRO suppliers, and the national packing network.
Accountabilities
* Ensuring all CRH safety standards are understood and followed.
* Following contractor management processes for all contractual works on site.
* Maintaining and developing Risk Assessment/SSOW systems to keep them current.
* Conducting periodic inspections and reporting findings to the Maintenance Reliability Technician.
* Facilitating execution of all maintenance work orders.
* Being available for out-of-hours support as per call-out procedures.
* Responding promptly to breakdowns.
* Fault finding and carrying out corrective maintenance cost-effectively.
* Using databases to locate spares and retrieving parts from the P&S department as needed.
* Attending and contributing to daily and weekly site meetings.
* Driving continuous improvement in plant maintenance methods to reduce costs.
* Building relationships with OEM suppliers and engineers.
* Assisting with annual shutdown planning, execution, and contractor management.
* Participating in root cause analysis for operational issues.
* Contributing to achieving the Packing Plant's annual maintenance budget.
