Internal Communications and Engagement Assistant

We are looking for an Internal Communications & Engagement Coordinator to support delivery of a dynamic communications and engagement strategy for one of the UK’s most important infrastructure projects – the Lower Thames Crossing. As the project starts construction, you will collaborate with a wide range of colleagues to inform, engage, and connect a geographically dispersed workforce across office and non-office locations.


Further you will:

* Support delivery of regular and periodic engagement events (online, in-person, hybrid) enabling two-way dialogue between leadership and employees.
* Distribute communications across multiple channels to keep teams informed about programme updates, milestones, and activities.
* Manage key engagement platforms such as broadcasts, briefings, SharePoint updates, and information cascades.
* Create and enhance internal communications content in collaboration with creative and digital teams.
* Act as gatekeeper for internal channels, ensuring content quality, tone, and brand alignment.
* Support delivery of engagement initiatives including annual events, surveys, recognition programmes, and working groups.
* Manage promotion and analysis of internal communications surveys and implement improvements.

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Experience of delivering internal communications and engagement in a complex organisation
* Experience of supporting development and execution of internal communications strategies
* Ability to work at pace, managing completing priorities
* Experience of delivering in person and online eventsExperience working with senior leaders
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experienced with MS Office applications and internal communications tools.
