About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing Planning Enforcement Service, following a recent transformation that has expanded the team.


As a Planning Enforcement Officer, You Will:

1. Investigate alleged breaches of planning control within the Borough
2. Take appropriate action to protect local amenities and provide confidence to residents
3. Conduct site inspections, interview members of the public, and liaise with landowners, occupiers, and Council colleagues
4. Assist with all stages of the investigation and enforcement process, from complaint receipt to case closure
5. Prepare and serve Planning Enforcement Notices and Enforcement Appeal documents
6. Support legal proceedings, including assisting in prosecution cases when required


About You

* Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement processes
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Ability to manage multiple cases effectively
* Experience in planning enforcement or a related field is desirable
